The Windows Registry contains information that Windows continually references during operation, such as profiles for each user, the applications installed on the computer and the types of documents that each can create, property settings for folders and application icons, the system hardware, and the ports that are being used. The Registry is the control center of the Windows operating system and without it, nothing would work.

All programs on your PC store critical information in the Registry. Over time, the Registry gets larger and larger. If the Registry isn’t cleaned, it will just become very large and cluttered and each Registry functions will continue to get slower.

As time goes on, things will slowly get cluttered and performance will slow.  Fixing the Registry is an important part of maintaining your computer and it should not be ignored.

Lack of Registry cleaning can cause:

  • Increased errors
  • Computer crashes
  • Computer slowness
  • Bluescreen crashes
  • Cluttered hard drive
  • and worse

How to Clean the Registry

Cleaning the Registry used to be a very difficult task and only a few trained experts knew how to do it. But just a few years ago, these experts created software that allowed the average home user to maintain a fast PC at all times, without having to pay for expensive professional help.

It is now simple clean the Registry with products known as Registry cleaners or Registry Optimizers. These products can completely clean the Registry in just a few minutes. In some cases they can improve computer performance by up to 200%, as well as reducing errors and application faults.

By using a high quality Registry cleaner, you can restore your computer to brand new operating condition, or better. Most users never realize that their computer is having trouble due to a cluttered or damaged Registry. In fact, most users don’t know what the Registry is, so they end up throwing out cash on new hardware, when they could have boosted their PC performance for free.

Reasons to Repair the Registry:

  • Removes 99% of PC errors
  • Boosts speed by up to 400%
  • Increase the longevity of your computer
  • Removes application faults
  • Removes EXE errors
  • Get rid of blue screen errors
  • Faster Bootup and shutdown

A computer is like your car in that it requires regular servicing. Whether you do it yourself, or use a professional cleaner, that is up to you. But with regular service, your PC will continue to run fast and you won’t need to worry about upgrading. Most Registry cleaners can be set to run on auto-pilot, so you can set once, and then forget. Keep your computer running fast at all times. For Registry cleaning, we advise that you check out the RegCure review.

Which web host should you use?

Tips No Comments »

This morning Joel emailed me some useful stuffs I would like to share with all my readers.

The reproduce the email in full as follows:

Hey Ainuddin,

If you are going to have your own web site, it’s important that you select a quality web host.

Where you have your site hosted can make the difference between a successful website and a failure.  It’s that important.

So here are the things you need to look for in a web host…

1) Unlimited disk space – you don’t want to run out of disk space when people are trying to access your site.

2) Unlimited bandwidth – It’s important that your host be able to deliver your content in the event that a lot of people are visiting your site at the same time.

3) Unlimited websites – You may start with one site, but you may find you want to launch others as well.  This option is important.

4) Free setup – there’s no reason you should be paying setup fees.

5) 99.9% uptime guarantee – No one can guarantee 100% uptime, but some hosts can get awfully close.

6) Installed software for systems, database, scripting, email and more –  This will appear as CGI, Perl, MySQL, SSH, POP and other acronyms I don’t understand.  It’s ok, you don’t need to understand them either.

7) CPanel hosting – this is the defacto control panel making it easy to administer your site

8) 24/7 support – I have been with hosts who didn’t answer their phones.  It’s scary.  Support is critical.

9) No contracts or hidden fees – everything should be made clear

10) A fair price – Most hosts start at $10 or so per month.  That’s not bad, but there is better.

I’ve used a number of web hosts in the past fifteen years.  I’ve had some nightmarish experiences and I’ve had some great experiences.

So I am frequently asked who I recommend for web hosting.

The host I’ve found that meets all of the above requirements and beats the price on all others is HostGator.

In fact, several of my servers are with them TODAY!

I guess that says it all.

So don’t sweat it as you look for the perfect web host.  I’m happy with Host Gator’s service and I think you will be as well.

Try the coupon code “LUCKY” and you may get a discount on services.  I’m not sure if it still works but it’s worth a try.  If not, their prices are already low enough that it won’t matter.

Happy hosting!

Tell the entire Blog community as a whole that your Blog site is up and running

Blogging, Tips, WordPress No Comments »

Some of the very biggest buzz words on the internet right now are Blogging and Pinging. Many internet gurus claim these are the essentials for attracting visitors to your site.

The best kind of blog lets readers put in their 2 cents worth. People love to be able to voice their opinions, and tend to get frustrated when they can’t. Thus, the best blog is an online discussion web site that allows both you the web owner and your readers to voice their opinions on a specific subject.

So where do you begin? Well, for one thing, your blog needs to be specific to succeed, unless you’re a celebrity. People will go to Paris Hilton’s site to read just about any fool thing she writes off the top of her head, but don’t think you can do that. I know it’s not fair, but that’s how it is.

If you’re not famous, you need to focus on a niche topic. For instance rather than run a Blog on dogs why not specialize in black labs or some other breed? I guarantee you, if you put a cute picture of a black lab with a red bandana around her neck up, you’ll have all the other black lab owners dropping by to tell stories about their own dogs.

Pinging, is how you tell the entire Blog community as a whole that your Blog site is up and running. Most Blog software has a feature that does this for you when a new post or comment has been made.

To put Blog software on your own server and running it independently on your site, I have found WordPress to be excellent software and this can be downloaded at WordPress.org

Put web links where people will see them

Tips No Comments »

If you’re putting web links in, make sure they’re where people will see them—not in that bottom right-hand Corner of Death! Yes, people notice links in web content. They’re usually bright blue and underlined, so people notice them. Many people even read links before they look at headlines.

Now that you know that, make it easy for them to get to your links by consistently presenting them in list form or by slamming them right up against the left-hand margin.

Don’t put your links in a sentence or they might end up in the invisible right-hand area of the content. Yes, this means you can’t use the old "click here" convention, but for a good reason: it never worked very well anyway.

Comments help your blog look more active

Blogging, Blogs, Tips No Comments »

Comments help your blog look more active. Initially you may find that users may not post comments to your blog. It’s going to be up to you to get things going. Have your friends or family members start leaving comments on your blog as it can make your blog seem more active.

People like to see activity; if your blog seems dead you’ll likely get no responses. If you would rather not have your family even know about your blog, then you can post comments yourself but as a “Guest” or as registered user instead of admin. Respond to your own posts initially to create activity, then you’ll start to see other real users placing comments as well.

If you go to popular webmaster forums, you’ll find that users get paid for making posts on forums. The usual rate is about .10 cents per post or something within that range. The same theory applies for blog comments. You can hire a set of 10 to 20 people to comment on your posts and pay them a small fee, this way you generate some interest in your blog.

If you post a project on the sites I mentioned previously such as Scriptlance or Getafreelancer for “Blog Posters”, you can find people who can get your blog active, by making comments and paying them a small fee. Within a few weeks your blog should be very active.

Adding too many tags to your video will ensure that it isn’t indexed properly

Tips, Videos No Comments »

Myth: If we use every related tag we can think of, the maximum number of people will see our video.

Fact: Adding too many tags to your video will ensure that it isn’t indexed properly. If I’m trying to find a how-to on fixing the air conditioner in my car, and your coverage of the Indy 500 comes up, I’m probably not going to click on it. Worse, if you tag your video with Indy and 500, you may be indexed along with clips from Indiana Jones or the Indianapolis Colts. And that’s just on YouTube. You’ll have more problems at Everyzing, Odeo and other video aggregating/ search sites. Instead, choose the most appropriate tags for your content – help your users, don’t distract them.
